Blessing on the Block will take place every 1st and 3rd Saturday at 10am. We will be doing a service project and handing out household items to the families on the block. Please sign up in the church office with the Saturdays you are available. Training will be completed onsite.

New Members Orientation Class: The New Members Orientation Classes are EVERY SUNDAY at 9:30 am. No matter when you joined Progressive, it is important that you complete the New Members Orientation Class.

Young Adult Discipleship class: For all 20s and 30s, Sundays at 9:30am.

Bible Study & Discipleship: 12noon Bible Study is held every Wednesday in the Fellowship Hall. Join us for Men's Discipleship at 7am every Saturday in the Fellowship Hall.

Ministry and Club Announcements

If you are interested in serving as an Administrator or Secretary for a ministry, please contact the church office.

The Drama & Dance Ministry rehearses at 2pm on Sunday morning.  Please see Sister TaQuia Hylton if you are interested in joining Joyful Praise (ages 5-12) or Sacred Movement (ages 13-39).

The Senior Citizen's Club will meet every 3rd Wednesday at 10am in the Bessie Sanford Room.

Girl Scouts will meet 1st & 3rd Saturdays in the Bessie Sanford Room.

The 30 Day Clock Club will meet every Second Sunday after 11 am service in the Deacon’s Room.

The Mother’s Board will meet every Fifth Sunday after 11 am service in the Deacon’s Room.

The Social Service Health Ministry will meet every third Sunday in the Nurses’ Room. Meeting times will be posted on the door.

The Old Veterans’ Club will meet every fourth Sunday in the rear of the main sanctuary.

The Progressive Mission Ministry will meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 12:30pm.

Operation Progressive Cares will feed the homeless every 2nd Saturday of the month. Please donate the following items needed for men, women & children: undershirts, underwear, long johns, socks, hats, gloves, and  scarves; travel size body wash, mouthwash, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, baby wipes, lotion & vaseline.

SUMMER INTERNS FOR T.E. BROWN APARTMENTS 

We are looking for three (3) high school students, between the ages of 14 to 18.  ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF PROGRESSIVE M.B. CHURCH, able to work 40 hours a week during the summer school break, provide own lunch, transportation to the work site, (if selected) able to provide an Illinois Work Permit, Social Security Card and Illinois State ID at the time of the application process.

The interns will be working with the Management and Maintenance Staff of T. E. Brown Apartment, located at 3601 S. Wells St between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm at the pay rate of $10.50 an hour.

All interested candidates must submit the bottom portion of this form to the T. E. Brown Apartments management office by Wednesday, May 31, 2017.  LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  Applicants will be contacted by the T.E. Brown hiring staff to arrange for interviews.
